F. B. Meyer

1847 – 1929 · England

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”

Philippians 3:10 (KJV)

A close friend of D. L. Moody, whom he helped introduce to churches across England, Meyer pastored congregations in Liverpool, York, and Leicester before taking on Christ Church in Lambeth, where attendance grew from roughly 100 to over 2,000 within two years. He became a leading voice of the Keswick “deeper life” movement and wrote dozens of devotional works still read today; Charles Spurgeon once said of him, “Meyer preaches as a man who has seen God face to face.”
