In the Life of the Saints
A trained lawyer from Carthage, Tertullian became one of the first major Christian writers in Latin, coining terms like “Trinity” that would shape theology for centuries. Famously blunt, he once asked “what has Athens to do with Jerusalem?” — questioning how much Christian thought should borrow from Greek philosophy.
